We're going to the ZOO

We headed to the Zoo on our day off on Tuesday and after 2 Train rides and a Ferry ride we got on the cable car and headed to the top of the zoo.


We saw Monkeys, Tigers, Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Seals, Zebras and lots more.

Not quite sure what was in the air on Tuesday, but it seemed like all the animals were getting some..... The chimps were all on heat, so they were doing what they animals do often and very loudly and just check out the elephants.... That's one big boy and he is only 7 years old!!!!!!


Caitie loved it and Pip was really good too. It was a very long tiring day but we all enjoyed it and had a great time. Caitie went to sleep in the car on the way home and so she went straight to bed and slept through till the morning.

We also picked the best day to go as the Queen Mary 2 was in the harbour..... That is one BIG boat and only the cost of a house for 1 person to sail on!!!!

Mum's 62nd Birthday


It would have been Mum's 62nd birthday on Monday and it was a day of mixed emotions. It was easy to go on with the mundane this of the day and then every now and then it would hurt. My wonderful husband came home from Elders with lovely bunch of flowers and the sweetest card. And for some reason Caitie was singing Happy Birthday all day.......

It is so hard to believe that she has been gone almost 3 years.

Pip's Thanksgiving Service

We had a great service on Sunday for the Thanksgiving of Philippa Jade. She was great, slept through the beginning of the service and then was happy for her part and the rest of the service.


Everything went well and we had a nice lunch after the service with our special friends.
It is days like this that is still upsetting that Mum was not there. She missed out on Caities by a few weeks and it is hard to accept that she has missed this one too. But more than that my kids have missed out on knowing such a wonderful lady.

This dress was made by mum and crocheted by Grandmother Bevan. I wore it when I was dedicated in 1975 and Caitilyn wore in 2002.

2nd Day at PreSchool

WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today we cried and cried and cried, both of us, (I understand now Paulie).

Caitie was a bit funny all morning and has been waking in at night recently with nightmares, so I was not surprised when she didn't want to go into the room once we arrived at the centre, let alone SCREAMED when I stood up to leave. After 10 minutes of trying to distract her with the dolls, home corner and puzzles which didn't stop the crying and heartbreaking sobs of "Let me come with you", "I want my Daddy" and "I want a cuddle, lots of cuddles", I handed my hysterical baby girl over to this all of 17 years old stranger and left the room in tears. Apparently she had a rocky day, was ok in bursts but basically upset for most of it. When we went to pick her up as soon as she saw me she ran and burst into tears again and wanted to go home.

The Childcare worker Kristy said that this is usual as the first day it is all exciting but the second day they realise that it means Mummy leaves them for the day and that's the worse thing you can do to them as far as they are concerned.

Anyway she will get use to it once she gets to know the other kids and the carer's, but in the mean time it is the WORST feeling EVER to just turn your back and walk away from your crying hurting child. I so hope it doesn't take long.

Family Cafe at Little Kids Church


Sunday morning in Little Kids Church the kids made Chocolate and Peanut Butter Spiders for the families to eat after church. So Grandma and us headed in for a yummy (so they told me... Peanut Butter yuck!!!!) Spiders. Grandma had 1 Daddy had 4 and Caitie had 3.

The Table Arrives


On Thursday we set out to pick up the Dinning Suite and have it put up before Josh & Kayles got home on Sunday. I had spoken to Sue and she was going to let us in, so we headed over once Andrew had been and picked it up while the girls slept. We got the chairs in and then Andrew, Sue & Meagan carried in the table hmmmm it was at this point I went some thing is wrong. Andrew opened the table box and the table was a rectangle and not a square as ordered!!!!!


So we called and where told that they didn't have the table at Penrith and that we could not get the right table until Tuesday..... I was so upset as I wanted Josh and Kayles to come home to a nice surprise. But what could we do.

Then Friday I got a call from the Sales rep that I had arranged the sale through and he was apologising and said that they did have one at Penrith and when could we get it. I said we will be there first thing tomorrow, I called Sue and Andrew tee'd it up with Jarryd at youth group.

So Saturday morning we went and picked up the rectangle one went to Penrith swapped it for the square one and then headed back to Richmond to set it up!! As you can see it looks fantastic, with the extra money I was able to get the photo printed and framed, place mats, a hurricane vase with a candle and still give them some money towards their floor rug.

After all the hassle it worked and they were very surprised. Which made it all worth it!!!!!

Ryan's 1st Birthday Party



Happy 1st Birthday Ryan

On Saturday we left Daddy at home to have some "Andrew" time (it has been a frustrating and very long 2 weeks) and headed over to the Mackenzie's for Ryan's 1st birthday party.



There was heaps of yummy food and good friends.




Caitie was playing with Faith, Maddie, Tahlia, Brianna and Thomas while I caught up on the last week with everyone.

1st Day of Pre-School



Well all went well, I was woken up to Caitie calling out asking if it was time to go to Pre-School. We had a leisurely morning, she shared "Tarna" Toast with Daddy for Breakfast and then we headed up to the centre. After a quick photo outside we headed in to where she RAN down to the room she was going to and once the door was opened disappeared into 'Home Corner' and until I said I was leaving she didn't even realise I was still there.

Pip and I then had a nice day at Koorong and Penrith buying all the birthday, Baby shower and wedding presents that we needed for the next few weekends, then home for a quick bite and a sleep (Pip that is) and then back up to pick up Bug.

She was very excited to see me and told me all that she had done including not having a sleep. She painted, played in the sand pit, read stories, played in home corner and had a great day. She is wanting to go back next week which is fantastic.

PS: I was fine, I didn't cry, just very very proud of my girl.

Introducing Imogen Rose Camp


Born: Thursday, 1st February, 2007 at 10:54am.
Weight: 3.28kg Length: 48.5 cm


Kerryn is doing well, recovering better than last time and other than Imogen having her feet put in half casts as they are slightly turned in she is doing really well. They both went home on Monday afternoon.

Pip & Owen's 5 Month Birthday

Pip was 5 months on the 4th (yesterday)
Owen was 5 months on the 5th (today)



Owen is Melinda (Field) & Craig's 2nd child, little brother of Hannah.


Look she is only 5 months and is already letting boys suck her fingers!!!! I think her daddy needs to have some stern words with his daughter and start cleaning that shot gun. He he he.

The Blessed Day Arrives (finally)


What a fantastic day!!!!!

Other than the over whelming humidity everything went fantastically and everyone had a great time. Kayles and Josh asked me to video so I didn't get many photos and the battery was still on charge at home while we were at the Church, but these are a few I did get and have since been given.





Kayles looked absolutely divine and Josh scrubbed up well too!! Everyone look sensational from the bride and groom to their attendants to their parents to their guests.








This is the group of us that all put in to buy their dinning suite which should be arriving this week.....




Don't you just love Caitie's Dora tattoo!!!! I put it on her arm when she hurt it on Thursday night to make it better, but the problem was it would not come off for the wedding, I tried everything to get it off and nothing worked (it was on for over a week and a half).

Caitie Goes to Little Kids Church

My little girl is growing up so fast and I don't think I am ready for it to happen.....




She started Little Kids Church on Sunday morning and as I sat with a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye she took hold of Tahlia's hand and was off to her own Church without giving me a second thought. When I went to pick her up she gave me a dirty look and told me that she was staying and to go away..... bang crash goes my shattered heart on the floor.....sniff sniff sniff


She also starts Pre-School on Wednesday, I am going to be a mess.......where has my baby girl gone!!!!!

Caitlyn's 3rd Birthday Party


Welcome to our Fairy Party

(Inside) Due to the much needed rain, we had to move our Fairy Garden party into the lounge room. This meant we had to moved the entire room around so we could fit out fairy ring on the floor and play musical chairs with a bunch of fairies. This was the funniest as they didn't quiet understand that when the music stopped and you missed out on a chair you were out, they just kept running back in, so we ended up leaving all the chairs in and they just ran around (in any direction the liked) and sat on a chair when the music stopped. We also played pass the parcel, did painting, did fairy dancing and ate the yummiest brightest cakes ever...

Everyone said they had a lovely time and I know Caitie enjoyed herself, I just find it so hard to believe she is 3!!!!

Australia Day 2007



On Friday we headed down to Narrabeen again, we had already been there Monday, Sunday and Tuesday. We had a lovely day swimming, playing in the sand, playing at the park, spending time with special friends and more importantly we ate LAMB !!!!

Thankfully the water was slightly warmer than previous days so Caitie & Pip were at least willing to get wet even if it was only for a quick dip. The water was still cold enough to put Pip to sleep though.


Andrew and I had been tossing up wether or not we would go back down next year or start using those 2 weeks to see a bit more of the country and visit different places. We had not made up our minds until we turned onto Pittwater Road still 10 minutes for the park and realised that we couldn't stop going and had to keep up this tradition. Even though we were still 10 minutes away and not staying ourselves for the 2 week break, we love the place and were relaxing with every passing kilometer.

We also realised that we are going to have to arrange for some one to come down with us next year when we are setting and packing up as it was so easy with some one else worrying about the girls which we did the annex. Caitie did help me back up the wardrobe which was great cause we always had our jobs that we had to do before we could disappear and hit the beach. While Mum and Dad did the annex, I set up the bunks, wardrobes and cupboards and BJ wound down the stabilizers.
