Twas the night before Christmas

Not a child was stirring.....

Yeah Right!!!!

We had a lovely Christmas Eve, not our usual cleaning of the house for the morning, while eating finger food and drinking Champagne, but better as we had Scott and Tamara over for a Christmas Roast Dinner including Plum Pudding. It was great to catch up with them and share a yummy meal.

Exodus Christmas Party 2006

We decided to do Jamberro for our Christmas party again this year, but we forgot to mention this to the weather as it was overcast, threatening to rain all day and only 18 deg, great when your going to a water park.... But that didn't stop the kids they still went on all the slides and in all the pools....

Caitie spent her day going from Hayley, Sarah & Emily and Aunty Kaylene. I had brought her a new pair of sun glasses so Aunty Kaylene was teaching her how to hold her glasses with 1 hand and look over the top, which she kind of got.

Pip was quite happy to sleep and talk to anyone that would listen.

Friends

On Friday we had a lovely visit with Mel, Marty & Laura and Beck & Madison. It was great to see how much Laura and Madison have grown as they are both over 1 now and to see how much Mel & Beck have grown around the tummy region he he he. And they were able to meet Miss Philippa.

Caitie struggled with sharing her toys and didn't understand that the girls didn't understand what she was saying as even though they were around the same height as her she is over 12 months older than them.

WDBC Christmas Carols 2006

Well, what a GREAT night, heaps of carols, red & green glow candles, heaps of families and kids and most of all the best drama ever with the cutest sleeping Baby Jesus ever!!!!

After a very long weekend of lovely visitors on Friday, Jamberoo on Saturday and then Morning and Evening Church on Sunday, we were all very tired and so ready to just sleep for days (oh I wish!!)

The drama where Pip made her debut performance, was about 3 window dressers setting up a nativity scene, played by Lizzie, Tyler & Daniel. Lizzie was the sensible one while Tyler and Daniel played up and made the mannequins do funny gestures. They then grabbed a box and started throwing it around the stage, then it is thrown off stage and we put Pip in the box asleep (which she wasn't up until 5 minutes before I took her out the back...) and then she is carried back onstage by Lizzie and placed in Mary's arms. It all worked so well, people laughed when they were meant to and the kids all did so well. Thanks to Adam, Ashley, Matt, Cassie, Tom, Jaimie, Celeste, Darryl, Michael, Lizzie, Tyler and Daniel, it was fantastic. Also a huge thanks to Merra, Angela and Rosie for all their time and effort that went into practices, shopping and making of the fantastic costumes.

We only had one slight problem, big sister Caitlyn, knew that the box was for Pip so when the boys started throwing it around she got almost hysterical and was telling us to "Don't put Pip in the box" She would not talk to me for about 5 minutes cause I put her little sister in the box, so for the actual performance Barb had to take her for a walk....

Mothers Group Christmas Party

Monday was our Mothers group Christmas party at the back of the church, we set up a slip and slide and kiddy pools for the kids to splash around in, as most did except for Caitlyn who would not get in the pools cause they had grass in them so were dirty and they were not deep enough to kick and paddle in.....

While the kids splashed, ate and chased bubbles (thanks the Aunty Kerryn and her bubble machine), us mums chatted and ate yummy Christmas food.

We were then visited by Christmas Aunty Merrillie and all the kids recieved a present which was nice, however both Hannah and Caitlyn got to open two presents as Owen and Pip were both asleep by then.

Caitlyn Renee Parkinson's Big Girl Bedroom

I think we have finally finished Caitlyn's new room.

We have added a big girl bed, fairy bed linen, pink curtains, a bedside table, lamp, mirror, toy box and jewelry box.

We also added a pink bed canopy, which lasted 2 nights before she pulled it a little to hard and it fell on her, much to her disgust.

Christmas with the A's

On Sunday the 10th December, we headed up to Dad & Barb's for an early Christmas with Aunty Jan, Kylie & Naomi as they will be on the road to North Haven on Christmas Day this year so won't be at BJ & Kerryn's for Christmas Dinner.

Once we got there, a little late due to carols practice, we chatted and caught up. Then we sat down to a BBQ lunch without my famous fried rice as it was still in the fridge at the church. And then a yummy dessert.

We then headed out to the sunroom/balcony for PRESENTS.

Caitlyn got a Fairy Pillow to match her bedroom & a cinderella book, that we have read already.

Pip got some new clothes which she looks very cute in and likes.

Andrew got a book light so he doesn't wake me when he wants to read in bed when I am already asleep, a pair of sports socks that he wore today to the gym and I got "Pirates of the Carribean" and a lovely necklace.

Thanks for a nice day Aunty Jan, Kylie & Na and the great presents. We pray you have a safe trip up the coast and have a nice break. Love You & Merry Christmas

Oh Christmas Tree

What and exciting time of year! On Saturday 2nd December, we set up the Christmas tree and decorated the house which was heaps of fun.

Caitie is at that age she understands and was such a great help passing up balls and decorating the tree. We also got her a Christmas story book that has sounds for each person and animal which she loves and has to have EVERY night.....

Jaime & Viv Watkins
28th November, 2006
This was an interesting wedding....... dressed in swimmers and Hawaiian shirts around the pool and we had to keep telling the bride and groom it is time.... lets go.... But it was also lovely and a great night was had by all of us

It was in Jaime & Viv's backyard in Werrington with their family and friends, after we all sat around nibbling and the kids swam it was time to do the deed, so Andrew asked everyone to be quiet and then they got married. Then it was time for the Bride and Groom to get the food out of the Bar fridge and it was help your self to dinner and continue to chat and dance and swim. It was the most laid back wedding I have every been to but it was great.

Craig & Amanda Robinson
18th November, 2006

A gorgeous day, that didn't get to hot (in the shade) and had a nice cool breeze. Craig was his usual blubbering self and Amanda looked lovely (I charged the battery this time!!!).

The Rev. was asked to pray for them and do a Bible reading which was nice. It was great that Craig's mum could make it as she is REALLY sick and the Doctors only let her come cause she cried for 4 days till they said they could organise something. So they transfered her from the South Coast to Nepean Hospital so she could come and between the ceremony & reception she had to go back for some oxygen.

We left Caitlyn with Uncle Marcus, Aunty Jella and Lizzie for the day and headed out with Pipalipa with us, she was great stayed quite during the service, we came home between the service and reception and feed her and then she slept through the whole recception, the only problem was we had to wake her to put her in the car and she DID NOT like that at all and SCREAMED all the way from Penrith to Windsor, where Andrew dropped me off to calm her down and feed her while he went and picked up Caitie.

Josh & Anita Morris
Friday 3rd November, 2006
Firstly is was very strange shifting our mind set from a Saturday wedding to a Friday one but once we looked at the Mon- Fri parking times rather than Sat - Sun we did better. It rained off and on all day and it was lucky that Anita ending up being 30 minutes late as at 3pm the heavens opened and it poured down.
Josh turned up on the back of a Harley and looked the part!. I have no photos of the Bride as my batteries went flat taking photos of the boys before the girls arrived. But that was kind of ok cause instead of everyone wanting to see what the "Brides Dress is like" it was "What is Josh going to do with his hair?"

How bad do I feel!!!!

Last Thursday morning I was busy cleaning the van for it to be used by Phil & Jen on the weekend and Caitie was helping me when she fell out of the van door and hit her back on the step and her head on the step behind her. She cried a little, I cuddled her and she was all good, and went back to helping me clean and didn't mention it again.

On Saturday when I was braiding her hair to go out I noticed that she had slashed her head open and it had caused a bump too..... How bad did I feel that she had hurt her head so bad and didn't realise and she never said anything.....

Cooking Lessons

I have decided that I wanted to start teaching Caitlyn to cook and to spend some one on one Mummy and Caitlyn time. So on Wednesday's mornings, we cook muffins for the Ladies Thursday Bible study as we are not allowed to have them in the house as it isn't on our diet, even though they are "fat free" hehehe, and Andrew does eat at least 2 or 3!!!!!

Caitlyn puts everything in the bowl, I mix it a little, then she mixes it and I finish it up, I put it into the muffin tins and while I put them in the oven Caitie licks the spoon, the bowl and her hands, as you do and as you can see!.
Once they are cooked and cooled, Caitlyn hands each mini muffin to me and I put frosting, icing or 100's & 1000's on them in varying colours. They are much appreciated by the ladies and very very yummy.

It was quite funny the first time we did this and she took the muffins into creche, Debbie the sitter asked her if it the muffins were for her birthday and she said yes, so they sang her Happy Birthday before they ate the muffins.

Gingerbread Houses

This afternoon the girls and I went to Aunty Merra's and did our Gingerbread house.

We had a great time, Pip was either sleeping or with Aunty Tarissa while Caitie and I did our house. I constructed the house and put icing on for Caitie to decorate.

Caitie did all the decorating and she did such a great job too (as you can see).

We are both very proud of our house and after a swim to cool down with Uncle Linc and Tahlia we headed home. All Caitie wanted to do all the way home was eat her house, so I can tell you now it won't last till Christmas.
